Mentorship in Motion

Growing up, my grandmother served as the first female mayor of a small coal mining town. But also, she was my first mentor. She showed me that leadership is not about a title, but about empowering others to rise along with you.
I didn't play house-- I played mayor.
I spent summers and holidays at City Hall, sitting in on constituent meetings, meeting with the Fire and Police Chiefs, and passing out my own "campaign flyers" saying Whitehouse for the White House 2040.
Nana showed me the duality of women: to be firm and strong, while also being deeply feminine.
Inspired by my experiences with her, I created Mentorship in Motion.

- Co-authoring the children's book with my grandmother, with a Q4 2026 launch date
- Inspired by the memories making buttermilk biscuits with Nana during her tenure as mayor, the story walks through a young girl asking for the recipe for the biscuits but learning lessons of leadership along the way
- Self-publishing on Amazon first, but seeking a publishing house to further promote and get into local bookstores
- Bringing the first samples to my school tour, handing out signed copies to all students

Cindy and I were paired through the Collegiate Leadership Program and regularly met throughout her senior year at Saint Leo. From interview prep, job connections, facilitated networking, and access to every event I attended over the year-- we forever shaped each other's lives. Cindy has graduated and we landed her a full time job here in Tampa!

We first met two years ago through the TSIC program. She is a current junior and we've been working through my curriculum together. From studying for midterms, to talking about her complicated family dynamics, to helping her understand her strengths-- we continue to work on real-world goal planning and workshopping college plans.
